Azerbaijan National Flag Square in Baku

National Flag Square  Bayil , Baku , Azerbaijan in the flag of the city’s main square. At 162 meters-high it was the tallest unsupported flag pole according to the Guinness Book of Records until the record was broken by a mere 3 meters in 20Azerbaijan_National_Flag_Square_AzerbaijanAdvntures10 by a neighboring republic. The pole flies the Azerbaijan flag a symbol of the square, coat of arms of Azerbaijan there and the Azerbaijan National Anthem is written on a mausoleum. At the end of December 2007 the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone of the project that he had initiated.  With the help of the engineers of a US firm the local Azenko engineering company developed and carried out by entirely by Azerbaijan workers. On September 1, 2010, «State Flag Square» was opened. President Aliyev’s initiative, «The National Flag Museum» was opened on 9 November which was then declared «National Flag Day»
